Overview:
Under general direction, the ProductionSupervisor has responsibility for ensuring that production requirements aremet, appropriate staffing levels are maintained, employee relations are good,and a safe/clean work environment is maintained. Additional responsibilitiesinclude planning, directing, coordinating and controlling manufacturingactivities in assigned work areas to achieve established management goals.
Core
Responsibilities:
Be able toperform moderate to heavy lifting, be able to work in physically demandingenvironment. May facilitate employee team operations.
Arrangesfor proper maintenance of machines and equipment.
May reportsdaily indicators, including production scrap.
Investigatesmaterial variances, reports results of investigation and recommendsimprovements.
Solicitsand encourages process, procedure and equipment improvements from team members.
Trainsproduction personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
Mayfamiliarize personnel with Company rules and regulations.
Utilizetimekeeping and HR systems for accurate accounting of work hours & jobrelated data for his/her team
Administersproduction salary/wage policy for operating personnel properly.
Additional
Responsibilities:
May assignwork to meet daily manufacturing requirements.
May auditStandard Work Practices for each area and regularly reviews them foreffectiveness through team meetings and practice.
Dailypreparation of shift reports
May controllabor and material usage to meet or improve standard costs.
Maycoordinate workflow with Production Control.
Coach andprovide consistent application of employee relation policies.
May reviewand coach employees in accordance with the plant goals.
Maymaintain accurate database information regarding employee training andcertification.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience. Relatedexperience, training, education or some combination of all three may beconsidered.
