Role Summary
Individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and deliverables throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle including requirements definition, systems design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution
Lead other engineers and workgroups
Key Responsibilities
Develop and document requirements required to design an automotive system (e.g. Infotainment, Telematics).
Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and adherence to best practices (e.g. CAN Data Dictionaries, IVED Mechanizations)
Coordinate requirements development with other activities
Provide support to other engineers for root cause analysis
Strong ability to efficiently capture and analyze empirical data.
Design Tests to efficiently identify opportunities for design improvements
Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Cooperative issue root cause investigations with other controller DREs regarding spanned functions

Qualifications
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
DFSS Black Belt
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 4 years of automotive electrical/electronics/software engineering experience
Minimum of 2 years of automotive component release experience
In-depth knowledge of vehicle serial data communications (GA GMLAN / GB CAN / Ethernet_AVB / JMB_ATT test tool)
In-depth knowledge of requirements engineering process (FMEA, DFSS)
In-depth knowledge of verification and validation process (component-, bench-, vehicle-level)
Working knowledge of embedded software development, testing and associated tools (e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody)
Understanding of hardware design and failure modes
Results driven individual with high levels of initiative and proactivity
High level of oral and written communication skills
Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with Global business partners to meet mutual goals
High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area
Ability to isolate issues between controllers that represent multiple variables in an equation with the only control group being existing requirements
Demonstrates creativity and initiative as well as a high level of independent judgment.
