## Description
Art Van Furniture, Michigan's premier furniture retailer and one of America's top 20 furniture retailers, is growing very rapidly. Our growth has created an opportunity for an individual experienced in graphic design for our retail stores.
In this role, reporting to the Director of Visual Merchandising you will be a part of our store design team working on signage , fixture design, brand strategy , logo development , promotional materials as well as design projects in conjunction with our marketing, merchandising, advertising and brand strategy teams.
The ideal candidate has strong technical design skills, is a creative and innovative thinker, friendly and outgoing.
Desired Skills and Experience
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design
2 years of professional design experience (newly graduated studentsshow your stuff)
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to take direction and work closely with team members
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Creativity, enthusiasm, and knowledge of current design trends/innovations
Knowledge of Visual Merchandising background but not necessary
Place high aesthetic value on logo design, typography, and layout execution
Mac Proficient
Proficient with adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
