About the Senior Wiring Project Engineer role:
The Senior Wiring Project Engineer is a key position that is responsible for designing and implementing the entire Power and Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS ) for vehicle programs. This is a senior electrical engineer position with the Product Development Team will work closely with vehicle program teams, such as interiors and body, purchasing, marketing, and manufacturing, as well as, potentially, lead a team of engineers.
The Senior Wiring Project Engineer is responsible for:
Providing PSDS program specific requirements and PSDS supplier technical reviews
Knowing the PSDS Statement of Requirements, program, timing, issues, plan etc.
Creating initial wiring harness parts list and complexity studies
Managing efforts of the supplier in the engineering factory
Managing the cost, quality, mass, etc. for the power and signal distribution system
Supporting Pre-Production build events including both physical and virtual builds
Ensuring that the design, development, and release of the wiring system are integrated within the vehicle
Leads the Peer and Wiring Harness Assessment reviews
Developing engineer designs and performing complex engineer design analysis
Qualifications
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the engineering field or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of experience in Power Signal or Wiring harness packaging
Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area
