System DFMEA Engineering Lead - Propulsion Systems-ENG0019264
Responsible for coaching and leading System Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Review Based on Failure Modes (DRBFM), and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) projects with cross functional teams. Work with Systems Engineers, Feature Owners, Systems Safety Engineers, Validation Engineers, BOM Family Owners, DRE's, Robustness Engineers, Suppliers and others to identify potential failure modes, understand the failure mode effects and follow-up to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented to address the causes and/or mitigate the effects.
Plan, schedule, and facilitate DFMEA, DRBFM, and DFSS activities
Follow industry (AIAG, SAE) and GM standard practices and workbooks
Provide individual DFMEA and DFSS coaching and training to Systems Engineers
Establish a course of action to accomplish and drive resolution on DFMEA plans, and to provide status updates to System and Program Team Leadership
Work with the Robustness Engineers or QRD Leads to provide quality research information (initial quality, customer satisfaction, long term reliability, etc.) for the System DFMEA with focus on safety critical requirements
Establish & manage System DFMEA Plans for New & Major Product Programs
Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Feature Owners, Safety Engineers, Program Quality Engineers and Product Engineering to establish priorities to address risks and opportunities
Work involves a high level of independent judgment
Participate in forums and meetings as required for assigned product areas
Understand global competitiveness of products in assigned product areas
Be a leader and coach in the application of quality tools
Support strategies to achieve business initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in Propulsion Systems
Background in Product Development: (Systems Engineering, Validation, Reliability Engineering, Quality Tools, Design Release Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with local and global team members to solve problems and resolve issues.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with web collaboration tools (WebEx and Share-point)
Demonstrate high level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult
Good project management and team facilitation skills
Preferred:
Experience facilitating Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), or Design Review Based on Failure Modes (DRBFM)
DFSS Black Belt certification
ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Manager of Quality
Assembly plant, Manufacturing, or Unigraphics experience
Understanding of GVDP

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
