HVA/C - Powetrain Controls Engineer - Hybrid System Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY
HVA/C - PTC - Hybrid System Engineers responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment
Consults with supervisor as required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares technical specifications
Develops, refines and finalizes criteria and typical sections using math data
Develops SOR (system of requirements) for cooling components for the various sub-systems stated above
Supports/Leads technical reviews (eg .Peer reviews)
Participates in technical review in support of peers
Defines control document requirements for component and subsystems, negotiates and reaches agreement with interfacing components, works with others to resolve issues
Performs appropriate studies/alternatives, and recommends program direction based on cost, performance, mass, timing,DFA, variation and other program imperatives
Supports/Leads PDT (product development team) for component/subsystems (e.g. timing, parts list, ect)
Defines selected direction using math data (model) and delivers to schedule including complete final math where appropriate
Supports determination of requirements (e.g. design and analysis)
Validates design using analytical tools including finite element, modal, virtual builds and others at the component level
Responsible for ensuring complete validation, including establishment of component validation plan
REQUIRED EDUCATION
BS in Engineering
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Strong working knowledge of automotive cooling systems
Working knowledge of heat exchangers
Specific knowledge in coolant flow requirements for automotive cooling applications
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
Strong interest and ability in vehicle integration and system
Basic understanding of Specifications and Release terms and systems
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC / PTC Design and Development
Working Knowledge of DRBFM, DFMEA, and PFMEA processes
