Job summary
Under minimal supervision, a registered nurse who demonstrates advanced clinical and communication skills. Assists and works with the clinical manager with functioning of an assigned unit. Assumes clinical and operational management responsibility on the unit for a specific day, evening or night shift, providing continuity and coordination of unit activities. Accountable to the manager for ensuring quality patient care. Demonstrates commitment to system values through customer focus and continuous process improvement. Job requires occassional heavy lifting, positioning and transporting patients and equipment.
Minimum Knowledge and Education:
Current Michigan RN licensure
AHA (American Heart Association) BLS Health Care Provider Card or its equivalent, which is as American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Card.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
Between one and two years of progressively more responsible work experience.
Surgical Services experience
Preferred:
Bachelor of Nursing.
Basic supervisory techniques
Emergency
