Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Experience working with school age children.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and give direction as needed.
  • Must meet Highly Qualified requirements for Paraprofessionals as defined by NCLB or willing to obtain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist driver in operation of lifts for wheelchairs and assisting disabled students.
  • Assist driver in maintaining good student conduct on bus.
  • Assist driver in securing any special equipment that may accompany students.
  • Assist driver in being alert to any conditions in loading area that may present a danger to students.
  • Communicate appropriately with driver, students, parents, and other employees.
  • Performs such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and/or his/her designee.
  • Keep the driver informed of any special needs or problems of students.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist driver as directed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
