General Operator Reports To:
Shift Supervisor Position
Summary:
General Operators are to safely produce highly quality products by effectively executing manufacturing systems in relation to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties:
In keeping with the policies and procedures of the organization, along with all relevant legislative authority, the General Operator will:
Have knowledge and support of all safety programs.
Ensure and apply proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Promote a safe work environment.
Log into Plex and read all Quality and Safety alerts.
Enter components correctly and at the right quantities into Plex.
Remove all old labels from delivered bins.
Update pace boards on an hourly basis.
Immediately notify Lead/Supervisor of equipment failure or quality issue.
Print labels from Plex and attach to bins.
Operate and maintain equipment in the weld and assembly area including but not limited to, robotic weld cells, automated assembly equipment, manual weld equipment and manual assembly equipment.
Operate and maintain the part washing machine, including but not limited to, directing of product to be washed, and directing of washed product to other areas of the plant.
Packing of parts from the Press areas and Quality departments on the plant floor.
Sorting of parts in the Quality and Shipping/Receiving areas.
Read and interpret job instruction sheets and inspection forms.
Record keeping with respect to quality, productivity, and downtime.
Complete the required production and quality documentation including proper tagging, daily reports, startup sheets and time reports in Plex.
Effectively execute the principles of lean manufacturing.
Follow all directions and instructions given by Supervisor while operating weld machines or during downtime of the weld machine.
Maintain a clean and uncluttered work area utilizing 5S Standards (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
_ Education and/or
Experience:
_ It is preferred but not required that the Press Operator have at least a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of Manufacturing experience.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and good judgement / analytical skills, combined with strong leadership skills.
Able communicate professionally, verbally and in writing with all levels of team members and customers (if required).
The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
