SLPT, a leading global automotive supplier, is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the SLPT North America team in an exciting role to participate in the opening of a new manufacturing facility located in Warren, MI.
SLPT has a fast-growing electric technology portfolio direct to the OEM's and is expanding manufacturing to support our customers.
The Human Resources Manager is a critical part of the successful launch of the new facility to driving culture, implementing policies and hiring/training teams.
This job is located at SLPT's Warren, MI facility.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Generalist to join our manufacturing facility.
The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting the human resources functions and providing training and development initiatives for our employees.
This position requires a strong understanding of HR practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for employee relations, on-boarding new hires, and other HR-related activities including but not limited to benefits and leave; performance and talent management; recognition and morale.
Essential Duties:
HR Administration Administer the onboarding process for new employees.
This includes, but is not limited to ensuring that employees have everything they need to begin work on their first day, are provided with appropriate company orientation, are provided with a job description and initial goals, etc.
Work with local IT staff and PEO to ensure effective processing of time and attendance data collection and other human resources applications as appropriate.
Prepares and handles highly confidential material.
Maintains the integrity of all data and spreadsheets for all plant personnel.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, such as benefits, policies and procedures.
Conducts annual open enrollment benefits process.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings and screening resumes.
Supports the payroll process.
Training and Development Researches and identifies areas in which training is required and/or beneficial.
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
Plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various skill, policy, and compliance areas.
Evaluates and modifies existing or proposed programs; suggests and implements suitable changes.
Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials.
Collaborates with outside consultants and training providers to deliver training.
Facilitates delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed audiovisual equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training aids such as handouts; and performing other related tasks.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and deliver effective training materials, including presentations, manuals, and e-learning modules.
Administers, scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests; arranges retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
Performs other related duties, as required.
Education/
Experience:
5 - 7 years HR Generalist and training experience preferably in a manufacturing environment Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
SHRM or HRCI certifications are a plus.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience working as an HR Generalist/Trainer, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs.
Strong presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
Ability to design and implement effective training.
Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
