Summary:
Accepts shipments and ships merchandise by unloading, loading, and delivering, making sure the customer is satisfied.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Receives items by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, unpacking containers, and recording identifying information.
Verifies items received by checking identifying information of items, inspecting condition of items, and comparing count/measure of items to the freight bill, noting all discrepancies.
Maintains inventory by marking and placing items in stock.
Fills item requests by issuing/delivering items.
Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
Prepares merchandise for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
Maintains warehouse vehicles and equipment by cleaning, following manufacturer's standards of use; performing and scheduling preventative maintenance; reporting damage or mechanical problems to supervisor.
Determines condition of vehicles by inspecting vehicles before and after use; logging inspection; reporting requirements.
Delivers merchandise to destination by identifying destination; selecting route; driving vehicle.
Maintains safe vehicle and conditions and protects load by complying with organization policies, procedures, and highway rules and regulations.
Maintains records by completing driver log, obtaining shipper/receiver authorizations, and filing documents.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
