Job Title Computer Lab Aide - South Campus Job Function Provide limited technical support in academic computer labs.
Job Responsibilities Help students with IT training courseware (e.
g.
, TestOut) Setup equipment in labs for hands-on exams and exercises Monitor the classroom labs during open lab sessions and tutor students as needed Set-up/re-stock classroom equipment for class session demonstrations/activities Receive/set-up new computer hardware and peripherals in classroom computer labs Open and close the main classroom computer labs (configure equipment/power-up/power-down/tear-down/store) Report lab equipment problems to professors.
Replace malfunctioning equipment from storage Perform limited hardware diagnostic tests and troubleshoot equipment problems Perform limited equipment repairs, such as installing or updating hardware and updating operation systems and software on classroom devices Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to Department Associate Dean - day-to-day direction from Information Technology professors.
SUPERVISION GIVEN:
none Education Some IT coursework or degree Preliminary Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have working knowledge of information technology courses at Macomb.
Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment as required.

Work Hours To be scheduled by the department, but not to exceed 25 hours per week.
Afternoons primarily, some evenings may be required.
