Hybrid:
This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. As a Design Release Engineer you will be responsible for leading product development and integration activities for the Gas Fuel Delivery Systems. You will utilizing engineering tools and processes to successfully develop components and systems for vehicle programs including the organization and leadership of Product Development Team(s). Releasing components/subsystems related to Fuel components during the entire life cycle. Effectively achieve program milestones by thorough and rigorous program management. Coach and lead suppliers to timely execution of program deliverables with perfection. Operate with a high level of independent discernment and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management. Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Resolve highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research. Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Skilled and proficient with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely mostly on extensive personal experience and discernment to plan and accomplish goals. Additional Description Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience Time management skills to meet agreed upon program deliverables, able to manage multiple projects Interpersonal styles and communication skills to both lead and work effectively with local and international team member Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and specifications Must be able to travel domestic and international DFSS Black Belt preferred along with DFMEA and DRBFM. Preferred:
Background in Fuel System and/or Evap design/development is preferred. Controls/calibration related experience in the above areas is preferred. Experience with Team Center preferred
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
