Description As a Creativity Team leader, you will be in a complex role responsible for influencing, mentoring, and coaching a team a buyers to conduct purchasing activities. These activities include cross functional strategy development, sourcing, budget management, and improving supplier relationships. Responsible for developing and executing short term and long term global commodity strategies for four Creativity Teams. Lead coordination and development of sourcing strategies for entire team. Lead complex cross CT supplier negotiations and escalations. Lead global/regional material budget execution. Interface with suppliers on a regular basis. Coordinate and execute regular meetings with global and regional internal stakeholders. Actively coach, mentor, and support buyers in daily activities. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, ambiguity, analytical work, and a high level of independent judgment. Hybrid:
This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite monthly. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive Business Plan Manage business plan/tactics to reach overall global targets on a day-to-day basis Lead a team of buyers to execute commercial strategies Interface with Engineering, CCA and other internal stakeholders to clarify prerequisites and to drive cost reduction Optimize supplier footprint Utilize and coach team on available tools to optimize cost, i.e. cost models, benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, engineering change cost containment, technical cost reduction, part/system reuse, etc. Actively work to improve supplier relationships across CTs Influence others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Identify problems, update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures. Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions. Lead team on new methods or initiatives without defined procedures. Required Critical Skills:
Direct Material Purchasing Experience Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance Demonstrated high competence in negotiating skills Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint A minimum of 5 years relevant experience Preferred Critical Skills :
Automotive industry experience Knowledge of procurement software Knowledge of materials management Capable of interpreting market data Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed Educational
Qualifications:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
