GM R&D; Operations Research identifies and analyzes strategic opportunities to improve GM's profitability. Application focus areas include product development, customer insight analytics, cost and revenue management, marketing analytics, supply chain, and quality. This activity employs a strong team with experience in Operations Research, Management Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Optimization, Business Administration, Produce Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
To grow our team, we seek individuals proficient in the modeling, analysis, and optimization of complex, dynamic, stochastic systems. Skills and related tool expertise are needed in math modeling, statistical analysis, optimization, forecasting, data collection and processing, and computer programming. This position requires: creative problem solving, cross functional interfacing, team work, project management, technical documentation, creating and giving effective presentations to diverse groups and adapting quickly to new work areas. Special consideration is given to automotive experience and expertise in one or more of the following: revenue management, marketing and sales, product development, product portfolio planning, product quality, product launch, supply chain, purchasing and market research.
Qualifications
Basic Required:
PhD (exceptional Master graduates will be considered) in a system analysis field including: Operations Research, Management Science, Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Decision Science, Engineering, and Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Expertise in at least one of the functional areas: revenue management, marketing and sales, warranty and quality, product portfolio planning, product development, product launch, supply chain, and purchasing.
Research or experience in systems modeling and analysis where problems are poorly defined, complex and cross functional and possess uncertainties, multiple objectives and decisions with broad trade-offs.
Excellent team player and communicator with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with project teams, management, customers and subject matter experts.
Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.
Quickly learns and adapts skills to work on various projects in and with different technical and functional areas (e.g., R&D;, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales and Warranty).
Willingness and ability to contribute on multiple levels including: research, administration, management, technical work, data processing, programming, interviewing, and documentation.
Basic Preferred:

years of industry experience
Recognized expert in at least one of the functional areas: revenue management, marketing and sales, warranty and quality, vehicle portfolio and development, launch, supply chain, purchasing and work systems.
Proficient in system and data analysis tools including spreadsheets (Excel), statistics (e.g., SAS, R, Minitab), programming (e.g., C++, Java, VB), and data (e.g., Access, Oracle, data/text mining, SQL).
Experience with influence diagrams and value stream mapping.
Maintains a strong professional profile in areas of expertise.
Stays abreast of new developments, methods, and tools in areas of expertise.
Self starter and able to work independently on projects with minimal guidance.
Able to train, mentor and evaluate technical capability of others.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
